LOTUS COMPANY PROFILE AND CAPABILITIES
Lotus Wash Systems evolved from the operation of joint venture activities of 2 companies Lotus Manufacturing Ltd and Splash Equipment Ltd in producing vehicle wash plant.
Lotus Manufacturing a company formed in 1947 owned by Mr Roly Crowther for many years developed and manufactured numerous car wash machines for the market in NZ Australia and the Pacific islands along with its other activities as a light engineering company specialising in display equipment design and manufacture.
Splash Equipment Ltd a company formed in 1983 owned by Mr Graham Reiher specialised in high and low pressure pumping and spraying equipment manufactured commercial waterblasting, draincleaning and horticultural spraying equipment.
The 2 companies carried out jointly the design and building of the trainwash at Otahuhu under tender for NZ rail in 1993.
Several other projects were undertaken including truckwash plants for Anchor Dairy (now Fonterra) and the company Lotus Wash Systems International Ltd was formed in early 1999 between the 2 parties.
The company has since carried out a number of major project contracts both in NZ and offshore for both government departments and private companies along with some smaller wash plant operations.
The company's focus has always been on using innovative design in engineering, chemical and electronic areas to produce outstanding wash results not previously achieved.
In 2009 a totally new concept machine for the automated washing of all external surfaces of shipping containers was designed and built for a customer in Perth and has been operating extremely well ever since. Several more of these units have been produced with improvemnets being made in speed and efficiency.
Alongside the external wash plant a machine has also been designed for the automated washing and drying of the inside of shipping containers.
Patents for both these units have been applied for and approved.
Whilst the basic principles are similar every machine is different and each is a custom design and build to suit site and customer requirements.
